I found this good description of prioritizing the multiple roles one has to juggle as a parent, partner, & lab head. Determining which 'balls' are rubber, glass, or wood *beforehand* provides an action plan for when balls (inevitably) start dropping:

ISO advice: what do y'all do when experiencing crippling imposter syndrome? Like, I KNOW that I am capable, knowledgable, etc. but imposter syndrome got a hold of my brain and locked it and I can't seem to break through it.

Birth centers made CNN today - with focus on equity and consumer experience. let’s hope the focus on a regulatory barrier- a certificate of need - which NJ has- and is a huge barrier to increasing number of birth centers is examined and repealed.

It’s time to start making decisions on/submitting apps for where my daughter will go for kindergarten 😭 wrestling with keeping her in her current Montessori school or do we venture into the world of public/charter schools?! 😵‍💫the weight of making the right decision for her! 😣

The first-gen struggle is real 😓 never really had the language to explain how/why but the lack of cultural capital is it. 🎯

@_abuelbanat My parents were college educated outside the US, and I definitely struggled to figure out the US system. However, I still had access to cultural capital and social networks conferred by parental education. It’s nowhere near the same as coming from a truly first-gen household.

I’m flipping the narrative on Black Maternal Mortality to Black Maternal VITALITY!!! Black women & birthing people do enjoy healthy, joyful, vibrant pregnancies, deliveries, & postpartum periods & those stories must be celebrated. Stories of full abundant life! More to come…

THIS! And all of that on top of the million things that require my attention in my personal life (kids, husband, personal interests, family, health/self care etc.)😵‍💫 #OneDayAtATime learning (the hard way 🥴) the importance of setting boundaries.

The hardest part of #NewPI life 4 me is focusing on 1 task at a time… literally EVERYTHING is important, and it’s quite overwhelming. Add a lil ADHD, a smidge of anxiety, and a dash of depression, the struggle is too real…However, I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else 😩…

Last night I had to make the heartbreaking decision to have my dog put to sleep. Moxie was a rescue with a horrible past of abuse but has the biggest heart. She has been with me for the past 11 years and helped me through A LOT. I’m glad my kids got to know her love too. 😭💔
