As much as Kanye has always been lauded as a trend setter, it never sunk in enough that his biggest artistic “risks” that he got credit for were totally inspired by underground artists. Wouldn’t be an issue if he was someone who actually gave credit where it was due though
many moons ago i did a story on an artist named B L A C K I E and had it confirmed to me on condition of anonymity that B L A C K I E’s music was being played in the studio during the Yeezus sessions.
Kanye also lifted some of the aesthetic as well.
