thank you @SycamoreReview for this. 2023 wasn’t the best of years for me, & for months i struggled with writing. this, however, is all the motivation i need to write again before 2023 calls it a year. & congrats to the other nominees @ppirapokin @PurviPoets @sethwleeper

A true mixed blessing. Grateful to @SycamoreReview for publishing my story, "The Imam's Bride", in their gorgeous, vital Coda issue. Rueful that it will be their last. To all the staff & editors: for granting me this singular honor, thank you, thank you, thank you. 💙

if it's true that creative writing publications can only garner wide readerships by centering White authors, then American lit is in a sorry state. we are proud of the diverse range of works and writers we have published.

then you might hate our Coda issue. writers from all over the world, translations from beyond the English canon, interviews w Tracy K. Smith & @MichaelXWang3. White writers ARE included but NOT centered. our final editorial team is mostly international MFAs—sorry not sorry 🤷🏾

@SycamoreReview Art is Cultural Romanticism; thus, in order for art (creative writing) to garner wide interest from the public, creative writers must dramatize CR characters who represent members of majority class; for America, that's white people. SR no white writers. MFA hates Steinbeck.

Acaba de salir mi traducción de un cuento de @conejoangstrom, de su libro “El ángel de la peste”. “Curfew” aparece en la más reciente, y última, edición de @SycamoreReview. Es un honor y una alegría enorme salir en dicha publicación. Pasen a leer. ¡Salud! 📚🖋️

I’m all aflutter to have poems today issue 7 of swamp pink. This work is part of my latest project investigating themes of The Crush, infatuation, and the stories we tell ourselves, but beyond the lens and motif of my beloved Rachel Carson.
