I had the honor of serving on the Public Safety Coordinating Council with Ms. Henderson. She was also kind enough to welcome attendees to our office's Victim Resource Fair. I am sending my sympathies to her family, friends, and colleagues as we celebrate her legacy of service.
We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Tampa City Councilwoman Gwendolyn Henderson. She wore many hats of service in our community, including a beloved teacher, local business owner, and public servant.

Former @NFL player Mike Neal appeared in a Tampa courtroom this morning facing sexual battery charges. Prosecutors argued he should remain in jail until trial to keep the victim and community safe. A judge will make that decision within 24 hours.

Today, we joined Sheriff Chad Chronister and our partners at the @HCSOSheriff to honor the 17 HCSO deputies who lost their lives in the line of duty. These heroes put service above self and their sacrifices will never be forgotten.

We are thankful this deputy recovered from his brutal injuries. When you attack law enforcement in Hillsborough County, you will be held accountable.
❗45 Years in Prison for Attacking HCSO Deputy❗. A jury found Raheem Fulton guilty of beating an HCSO detention deputy while incarcerated at the Falkenburg Road Jail in October 2024. He was sentenced today to 45 years in prison.

He was supposed to love and protect his children. Instead, he took his daughter’s life, and forever scarred his young son. We hope this verdict brings a measure of comfort for everyone who loved these children.
‼️GUILTY AS CHARGED‼️.A jury found Jermaine Bass guilty of shooting and killing his 5-year-old daughter and badly injuring his 8-year-old son in 2022. He will spend the rest of his life in prison.

People like this defendant who victimize children will not be able to hide in Florida. He committed a similar crime in another state and was released from prison. Our prosecutors ensured that he will never leave prison again.
❗LIFE IN PRISON❗.Alexander Thomas Mullins will spend the rest of his life in prison for sexually molesting a victim under 12 years of age. He was convicted of a similar crime in another state and spent time in prison until he was extradited back to Florida to face this crime.

It has been 14 years since our community lost two @StPetePD heroes. We will never forget Officer Jeffrey Yaslowitz and Sgt. Thomas Baitinger. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and colleagues as we reflect on their service and sacrifice.
