Extremely proud of my PhD student Ismaila, for passing his viva at LSHTM, with only minor corrections. He is dedicated, hard-working and I know will have a brilliant career. Luckily he joins us as a post-doc for the near future. Congratulations Dr Manneh. So well deserved!.

Very happy to share our latest publication evaluating not 1, but 2 fingerstick blood screening tests for TB: Cepheid 3 gene test and a 3 protein test using lateral flow technology. Coming soon: evaluation in children and household contracts. Stay tuned.

This incredibly detrimental NIH funding block will impact years of our TB work, I am drawn to Coldplay's 'the scientist'. Different scenario for the song but 'let's go back to the start' resonates. We do science because we love it yet that is not enough. I have no words left.
