1/ I’ve been to war, twice. Iraq in ‘09 and Afghanistan in 2011. I am just a fucking ER doc. But it was there, in the deserts far,far from home, that I made my bones as a newly board certified ER doc. It is around that time, I think that I lost my capacity to feel joy.

My wife got me up at 1:30 AM to do the sunrise at Haleakalā in Maui and it's only 2:30PM and I'm tipsy and we have an expensive dinner at seven and I have to get up at 5 for the road to Hana and I feel like I've been awake for 37 hours help. #vacation

I made a terrible error in scheduling . Agreed to 2 extra nights at work with only day off after 7 nights. Didn't put them in my calendar so also signed up for two locums 12h DAY shifts with only 1 day off (today, still in PJs). So 9 nights and 2 days in 14. Tomorrow gonna HURT.
