Spotted this on the Ros Atkins Panorama doc earlier. Always thought Pat was a bit right wing so pleasantly surprised.

The devil will be in the detail on this. HuffPost UK understands the Dept for Education wants the free hours to be funded at cost so nurseries aren't left out of pocket rather than "the shit rate the government currently provides". https://t.co/hUflGF4CuJ

Thought for Monday: it’s taken the Treasury and Bank of England less time to deal with complexity of finding a buyer for a failed bank, involving billions of pounds and affecting 1000s of investors, than it has for the BBC to sort out a tweet from Gary Lineker

Remembering how public campaigns have made BBC management think again, help save the BBC Singers and all the great work they do for all the public, who need only turn to a radio to hear all the benefits, no licence fee required https://t.co/pkZnujOpRU

Stop the planned closure of the BBC Singers
Large public campaigns DO make BBC management think again, after its public-facing creative wings are told "we're cutting you". BBC 6 Music was saved this way. The BBC Singers must survive—reaching the world in countless ways the commercial sector cannot.

And here we have it, @BorisJohnson’s role in the great #HerdImmunity scandal which I first reported on for @BylineTimes in March 2020 (soon after the @Peston) article. Often denied, now confirmed. Bad science driven by the Spectator cost lives https://t.co/xVj5lYZbqh

Very much thinking of all the families affected by the Manchester Arena attack, those we lost and those who survived. On this difficult and important day, my thoughts are with each and every one.

If someone has 'brutally honest' as their personality, they just like being brutal and justify it in the cloak of being honest.

In all my years on this planet, if I've learnt anything at all, if I can pass anything useful to the rest of humanity, it's this: Don't buy a touch lamp if you have a cat.
