Now I’m one of the lucky ones, but lockdown has had me thinking and writing about a time when home wasn’t a safe place. I’m telling my story not to wallow in the past but to call attention to those currently trapped in hoarded houses who need help.

I'm delighted to be short-listed for the CWA Dagger in the Library. I wouldn’t be where I am today without libraries – they nurtured my love of reading. The award is for a body of work popular with borrowers so it feels very special to be nominated.
