Thursday saw 2 fellow sailors & I motoring a RIB, west towards Egypt Point in torrential rain & hail. We cut the engine & let a handful of roses be taken by the wind into the sea . . remembering Elizabeth who drowned on 1 Oct. Heading home, we waited for the rainbow. RIP E

I feel so privileged to work at a stunning nature reserve @NTisleofwight. The woodlands and hedgerows are carpeted with primroses, soon to be replaced with bluebells. Today I did a quick litter-pick! Sad that others don’t take pride in the countryside?
