This was the lake that was dead and dried up a year back. This was the lake that had missed its bird guests. This was one of the water body we had worked hard to revive and rejuvenate. Now the water and the birds are back and our smiles too. Work is pleasure.

With respect to Tamil Nadu, heat is a serious concern on multiple fronts. Heat coupled with high humidity causes severe heat stress and thermal discomfort. With more urbanization, the urban heat island (UHI) effect is spreading across the state. Drought and other related.

Such is the risk faced by frontline forest personnel. Though the staff here managed to escape, the risk they face in such operations is very high.
Emergency Task Force (ETF) personnel of Karnataka Forest Department were attempting to drive back an elephant to forests when another tusker suddenly charged on them. They could manage to escape. Human-Elephant conflict is a challenging task for our field officials.
