Engagement is key! This “engagement hack” could work across content areas and definitely looks like a success in this math lesson! Happy first week of school @MissJohnsonUCF !.
Engagement hack! I put 24 etch a sketches on my wishlist this year to use instead of whiteboards. EVERY student was engaged in their math learning and loved using them to solve problems. They were also helpful for quick checks. Thanks @Struckhoff_ocps !

Principal Nathan Hay was kind enough to give us a tour of their STEM lab where we were able to see students engaged in a wide variety of STEM activities. We look forward to seeing more from these students in the future!

Today we made a visit to Baldwin Park Elementary to award the first @OCPSnews k-12 STEM Principal of the Year! Principal Nathan Hay of @BaldwinPk_OCPS had stand out success in STEM, and has facilitated a mutually beneficial STEM relationship with the community. #OCPSSTEM

For context, in the showdown strategy students are posed a question and asked to respond on individual whiteboards. The students keep their boards hidden until the teacher asks for them to show their answers. This can be prompted by saying “3,2,1 showdown”.
