It’s National mascot day! I’ve been involved in tons of mascot work since 2016…
I remember my first mascot job as a penguin while in highschool. My parents were concerned that I wanted to be a mascot, and asked if I needed therapy.
To which I responded “this is the therapy”

What I do is google search “mascot jobs near me” or reach out to an organization I know has a character and ask if I can suit up (they usually say “yes!” pretty quickly!)

What’s it like back and forth between furry and mascot?
Even though I started out as a furry, I didn’t get my fursuit until recently! After wearing mascot suits for years, it was difficult talking in fursuit at first (still is!) I have to constantly remind myself I can talk 😂

I swear this legit happened - my parents were super concerned that I wanted to bounce around as a giant penguin 😅
Now I’ve helped develop mascot programs, helped with 6+ characters, over 100+ “in suit hours”, have trained mascots, helped with crazy stunts, etc.
