Decided to listen to Tom Waits this entire evening. First was, The Black Rider, followed by Swordfishtrombones, and now on to his most renowned album, Rain Dogs.

It’s a good album for spring. ✌️🎶
4 albums that change the way I perceive music
I have a much bigger list on RYM of more examples of this, but these were all pretty early on for me and had major impacts in different ways

Seems to be a favorite of the music community here. I’ve listened to a few songs sent by friends. This is my

#MyFavoriteBands
Welp, started this off completely wrong, which is a very “me” thing to do. But now I get to think about Radiohead so my embarrassment is assuaged and short-lived…for now.
Song: Pyramid Song
#MyFavoriteBands
Final song: Fake Plastic Trees
The song that started my obsession with Radiohead. When I first heard it, I replayed it about 50 times. It is still on repeat in my home.
Listening to Nick Cave’s album, Ghosteen, again. It is literally one of the most beautifully written and produced albums I’ve ever had the incredible experience of listening to.
I now know when I am struggling with feeling anything or something, this album will change that. ❤️🥺

Song: Let Down
“Taking off and landing
The emptiest of feelings
Disappointed people
Clinging on to bottles
When it comes it's so, so disappointing.”

4. Nick Drake
Though never experiencing a whole lot of love for his music while alive, he did receive wider recognition posthumously, and has since garnered a cult-like following. Include me in that following. Pink moon…cont.

6. Tom Waits
Tom waits (And Bob Dylan), 4 months ago, would more than likely not have made my top 20. They are the only two artists that I have more recently been playing non-stop because of Twitter. While I’ve always been a fan of Waits…cont

5. David Bowie
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars album alone places him permanently in any top favorite artists of mine, let alone his other genius works of art. A master of reinvention, he is a plethora of characters in…cont.

Day 7
Song: Season of the Witch
This is one of my all-time
#fav
songs, and let’s face it, that season is, indeed, upon us. It’s my favorite season.

10. Nina Simone
She attended Julliard and was trained as a classical pianist. Her dream was to perform classical music, but life had different plans. From her first album in 1959 to her last, Ms. Simone gifted the world with her voice & talent.
#MyFavoriteBands
Song: How To Disappear Completely
“I walk through the walls/I float down the Liffey/I’m not here/This isn’t happening…”
Ambient, classical, & jazz-y. Kid A is utterly brilliant.
I love the comments that read, “you’re wrong!” Haha! London Calling is probably their best, & seems to be their most highly regarded album, which I get completely.
CR was released a month after I was born, & I have many memories attached to the songs. That’s why I love it.
#OurNovemberSongs
This is one for today. I skipped a couple of days so I’ve been catching up. Little behind/ahead on the time, as usual.
Song: Ascension Day
#OurSeptemberSongs
I could listen to this song everyday. This song & artist brings me immense joy every time I listen to him (or his band) I’m always in the
#mood
for T.Rex.
Song: Cosmic Dancer
Name 1 perfect album by a FEMALE artist:
There are so many great ones already named like: Carol King, Bjork, Lauryn, Lucinda, Fiona…
I could pick Solitude by Holiday or Little Girl Blue by Nine Simone, or The Reminder by Feist but I’m going with this one 👇

14. PJ Harvey
Making her debut on the proverbial world stage in the 90s, PJ Harvey is exceptional. Whatever word you use to describe her music—avant, folk, indie, altern. blues, punk—she is rock through & through, creating her own unique, captivating sound.
In the

to hear Tom Waits tell me stories, which, quite frankly, is what it’s like to listen to any Tom Waits album. Sit back, and just go with it.
Be warned, it can get weird. 🎵🎶
Finishing my evening off with my favorite, Bjork. I mostly craved (does anyone else crave certain songs?) to listen to, It’s Oh So Quiet, and then I was, like, might as well listen to the whole album. One of her best, where she worked w/ Tricky from Massive Attack.

15. Van Morrison
Songs like: And It Stoned Me, Astral Weeks, Moondance, & his most popular, Brown-eyed Girl, is why he’s one of my favorites. He is pure nostalgia, with so many of his songs on soundtracks of many popular movies. He’s a classic. 🎶❤️🎶

I really enjoyed 3. I’ll have to revisit it again. There were a couple of lovely songs on the album.

2. Lou Reed
This is my most difficult choice. Depending on the day, Lou Reed could have been number one. But if I my choices are based on which artists I return to the most, there is one who edges out Lou Reed by a minuscule degree.
Today is about Lou Reed.
I’ll return to Scott Walker later. Had a sudden inkling to listen to Aretha. This album is superb. It’s a no-skip album, and every song hits you in the gut.

This album is simply lovely & divine. It places me in a dreamy mood. Have you heard it? 10/10 would recommend on a sunny day. It’s

Day 1
Song: Drop Cherries
I’ve been listening to this artist a lot lately. Something about her places me in the mood for fall and all things beautiful and dreamy.
#mood
It’s been a minute since I’ve been on here. Full disclosure: I fell down a flight of stairs &, uh, broke my butt. True story. Couldn’t sit down for a bit. Getting older is wild.
Last 4 albums I’ve listened to…
Lou Reed, Explosions in the Sky, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ane Brun. 🎶🎵
Look, all I’m saying is, I’ve been described by my friends as “the most depressed person they know.” Do I think that’s a fair description? Well, this is cheer-up music for me.
With an image, what album have you played the most in your lifetime?
There are a handful but there is one I believe, hands down, I’ve listened to, shoot, over 100 x’s…
#MyFavoriteBands
Today I will post 2 songs from Radiohead. I am behind one day in this challenge so trying to catch up.
First one today:
Song: Black Star from my favorite album. If you disagree just “blame it on the black star”.

16. Patti Smith
What can I say, other than…
“I’m dancing barefoot
Heading for a spin
Some strange music draws me in
Makes me come on like some heroine.”
Patricia Lee is captivating, a poet, a rock n’ roll queen. She allures many of us in like an addiction
#20FaveSoloArtists
7. Bob Dylan
“Ah, get born, keep warm
Short pants, romance, learn to dance
Get dressed, get blessed
Try to be a success
Please her, please him, buy gifts
Don't steal, don't lift
Twenty years of schoolin'
And they put you on the day shift” 🎶
