I take this as an opportunity to talk about how I love Watch Dogs 2. It's story gained by becoming more and more dated, it won by internet humor looping in on itself. Cutscenes having mostly absolutely zero soundtrack makes them 10x funnier.

Speaking of soundtrack, while I could complain about it not being present in most cutscenes, it's still amazing. Rarely do you get to hear more experimental tracks in AAA productions. And also the way radio is implemented is amazing, wish it appeared again.

+ It's great that you see the entire map from the beginning! You play as a San Francisco citizen using phone on daily basis, you already know where is every street. Makes it even more baffling that in Legion fog of war makes a comeback, I guess London is an uncharted territory.

And it's also simply a really fun game, with open world that's not overblown, is a well crafted space (one of the collectibles is taking selfies at landmarks around the city, freat way of making player engage more with the game's world).

WD2 is not amazing, but also it is amazing. With lots of heart in it. If you want easy to digest, campy game, go for it.
I'm not a big merch collector, but these two are chilling on my "mental illness" shelf.

In general the phone UI and related systems in WD2 are amazing. I could talk for hours about music and Shazam-type apps, how they provide nice way of customizing your experience, fun collectible in form of songs, and also build Marcus' character. Like, of course he uses Shazam.

Definitely! It makes those dry jokes funnier by making them feel like regular conversation. Although here the lack of background sound is sometimes taken to extreme. Places that usually have music playing in them suddenly become completely quiet, lack of enviromental sounds etc.

Yeah, it's a mixed bag of good ideas that don't go too far, some surpisingly nicely handled things (glad that Wrench's story didn't fall into "You're a cool guy, you can leave that mask and conform to society's standards" trope), and some less well handled things like this.

No need! It's pretty much standalone, the general worldbuilding is quickly introduced in the intro. There are characters from the first game, but outside of one being put in a self-explanatory "veteran hacker mentor" trope, they are just small cameos in side missions.
