Thank you! @AmyPaulin & @bradhoylman 💙💙.
BREAKING: The #MedicalAidinDying Act (S.138) has passed in the NY State Senate!. With this historic vote, New Yorkers may soon have access to the full suite of end-of-life care options they deserve. The bill now moves to @GovKathyHochul's desk to hopefully be signed into law!

We shouldn't have to suffer while dying. As a Catholic myself, I WILL elect for this option when I run out of options. MY God wouldn't want me to suffer and be in pain.
Time is running out to stop physician-assisted suicide in NY! Senate Bill 138 is on the brink of passing. This dangerous bill threatens vulnerable lives—patients, the elderly, and those with disabilities. Call your NYS Senator NOW and demand they vote NO! Phone calls are.

After 10 yrs of advocacy -this important legislation will finally become law in NYS. I hope I never need it. HOWTHEFUCKEVER. Living w terminal cancer is HARD. I'm the one living with side effects & treatment, so when my options run out, I want this option so I can die peacefully.
New Yorkers! Do NOT allow S.138-Hoylman-Sigal/A.136-Paulin to pass the NY Senate! It would reverse NY's historical ban on assisted suicide, and allow physicians to prescribe lethal does of medication to intentionally end a patient's life. CONTACT YOUR NYS SENATOR, NOW!. TAKE.

Using that same logic, I would then qualify as well if I stopped treatment b/c I couldn't afford the $15K/month for ONE of my medications & wait for the cancer take over & I have 6 months to live. It's NOT happening - insulin is WAY cheaper & there is financial help available.
@Stickit2Stage4 In Oregon, diabetes has been listed as a qualifying underlying condition. Under the practical application of the NY law, it would qualify here as well if a patient cannot afford insulin or chooses not to take it.

Terminal in the law is 6 months or less to live. People with Metastatic Breast cancer, like me, try to call it "chronic" because some of us live longer than the median life span of 18-36 months. I was diagnosed Stage 4 from day one in 2013. I will eventually run out of options.
@Stickit2Stage4 @_rebeccaclewis So just to clarify - it's not a problem that the law meant for terminal conditions is being used for non-terminal conditions?.

RT @_rebeccaclewis: Medical Aid in Dying is being brought to the Assembly floor today, where there surely will be lengthy debate before it….

Leave YOUR religion out of my terminal illness. When I run out of options to stay alive, I will die on MY terms and no one else. I have to endure the treatments, no one else.
Exclusive | State Assembly getting behind assisted suicide proposal….Mr. Heastie, another Democrat from NY, is proof positive evil is embraced. NOTHING HUMANE. Gods also gives all the same free will. “You” shall not bypass the judgment of Christ Himself.

How many times have you heard deaths from #BreastCancer is on the decline?. If more people are being diagnosed with distant stage breast cancer (#MetastaticBreastCancer), I respectfully disagree.
cancertherapyadvisor.com
The incidence of distant-stage breast cancer at presentation is increasing in the United States, data suggest.

Now I am at the mercy of @UR_Med. There is a time deadline on the Echo report. I can’t thank @MSKCancerCenter enough for their understanding and being flexible in this circumstance. It’s not always the health insurance providers folks - sometimes it’s your own care facility.
