A week after 37 races at Glorious Goodwood, three Racing League fixtures within eight days either side & Sunday Series 24 hours later. In 2026, let's do it all again!.
Ascot has blamed the bloated racing programme alongside Britain's declining horse population as the reasons behind Saturday's Shergar Cup Classic failing to attract a full field of ten after final declarations were made earlier today.

One role that is rarely mentioned around the Fixture List is that of the @LevyBoard. Would or could they stop funding 10% fixtures that provide the lowest levy yield? They could arguably pull the biggest lever. Admittedly it was 60 years ago but they've done it before!.

I 100% agree with community engagement initiatives but racecourses shouldn’t be giving out freebies to locals ‘for making their life difficult throughout the year’. One course in GB has opened since 1927 - ‘locals’ will know there is a racecourse in the vicinity!.
Sounds as if Epsom needs to instigate a sweeping and wide-ranging community outreach programme. Goodwood, for instance, give locals tickets to various events for making their life difficult throughout the year.
