The Battle of Britain Bunker in Uxbridge is the last surviving original Battle of Britain Group Operations Room. It is preserved as September 15 1940, one of the fiercest days of aerial combat of the entire campaign. Winston Churchill was there that day, watching from overhead.

War correspondent Alan Wood: "If in years to come any man says to you 'I fought at Arnhem', take off your hat to him and buy him a drink, for this is the stuff for which England's greatness is made".

First stop of the day. I do like this memorial and would love to assemble something similar in my garden. Anyone have a spare 6pdr or drop cannister? #Arnhem

A stop off at the Le Touret Memorial and Cemetery where we did a Christmas Truce stand for the school battlefield tour. Amongst the graves is Bill Bannister, one who didn’t get the chance to shake hands, exchange gifts or fraternise with the enemy on that Christmas day in 1914.
