National Pencil Day is March 30th. Why this date? In 1858, Hymen Lipman patented the first pencil with an attached eraser on March 30. Before this, pencils and erasers were sold separately.

The 9 most common mistakes that might be killing your opening:.1️⃣ Spotlighting minor characters.2️⃣ Backstory dumping.3️⃣ Burying the action.4️⃣ Misusing prologues.5️⃣ Confusing the reader.6️⃣ Not introducing conflict.7️⃣ Missing the setting.8️⃣ Weak stakes.9️⃣ Wrong entry point.
