@energyintel Spanish industrial gas association @GasINDUSTRIALes urged the Spanish government in a statement in December to follow the footsteps of other European countries in recognizing the importance of industrial competitiveness and to translate this into concrete actions.

@energyintel Meanwhile, sources were particularly pessimistic about the outlook on industrial gas demand in Spain. Conventional gas demand — households, commerce and industries — fell by 2% on the year to 20.8 Bcm, driven by a 5% drop in industrial gas demand, according to Enagas.

@energyintel However, any possible growth in LNG imports is expected to be capped by the lack of incremental demand from the Spanish power generation sector, which drove gas demand in 2025.
