What I’m seeing is only unambitious founders are shooting for $1T these days. Great founders are doing 100 hour weeks with 95% AI employees, and shooting for $10T minimum outcomes. 🚀 🚀 🚀.
The CEO’s of of the fastest growing startups are doing the following.1. 100% in office.2. Very very lean headcount.3. Mostly homegrown exec teams.4. Shooting for $1trillion. Unicorns are dead. 5. 80+ hour weeks.

Technically you don’t need number 2 if you want it bad enough. Most people would get a cushy job at a big company though.
How to be successful in Silicon Valley: . 1. Be born a man.2. Be gay.3. Hook up with the right people.4. Repeat #3 until you've made it.

Neither of these outfits are practical for fighting fires, but I don’t need to see your nipples at work however spectacular they may be. One point, Chief.
On the left you have my grandfather, who was a career LAFD fireman. He spent the summer when he was 13 living in the LA Forest with a friend, hunting and trapping to survive. On the right you have the current LAFD Fire Chief & the Head of “Equity and HR”

This is why we need to break up Waymo immediately. We need competition between the Way and the Mo to drive down prices.
More & more folks in SF are gushing about Waymo. The assumption is, over time, Waymo rides will be cheaper than other ride share options. But, what if consumers would be willing to pay MORE for a Waymo, where it becomes a premium option. That may be more likely.

List of things I should be doing but am not: Running startup. List of things I am doing but should not be: Ayahuasca.
If you made two lists, one with things you are doing that you shouldn't be doing, and one with things you aren't doing that you should be doing, I'd bet on proper critical reflection, the first list is a lot longer than the second. Herein lies most people's problems at work.

If you are in tech and perceive yourself as having no equals, please @ me with the hashtag #berealwithmeslj for tough-but-fair feedback.
If few dare speak the truth to their superiors, how shall he who has no superiors ever come to know the truth?. Most are better armed against fear than flatterers; terrors animate them and threats their courage; but flattery softens their minds and makes them negligent and idle.

Name me a bank in history that’s failed with a board of all white men. I’ll wait.
"I'm not saying 12 white men would have avoided this mess, but. ". Genuinely disgusting take from the @WSJ opinion page.
