It's just scary how America and other western countries, even if progressives can win, seem to drift towards fascism. What I'm worried about is the broader trend. Canada and Australia seem to be (mostly) spared, but I don't know how things are going to look like in 10 years

@Dumdum44578 @Staravaggio Definitely. But what happens to a country when resistance against the status quo changes into having to continue with a unified front? It really isn't so clear-cut that Iran will become a secular country like Western countries.

@SaraAfshar It succeeded immensely. I keep repeating: The Iraqi Tishreen protests of 2019 and Mahsa Amini of 2022 combined have done to the regime what endless Israeli/US bombardement can only dream of doing. Except it did it more peacefully and more sustainably. Be optimistic everyone.
