Graduation at HMP Wandsworth last week was special. Each participant stood up in front of volunteers & prison staff to share what the last 3 weeks had meant to them. What really shone through was the respect they have for one another & their pride in each other's achievements.

We're delighted to be featured in PA Foundation's new impact report on grantees who - like us - are creating positive, post-prison futures. Also featured are our friends @RevDoors, @3pillarsproject, @Catch22 & @code4000uk. Huge thanks to @PA_Consulting. https://t.co/YkVXY3pjYr

Did you catch Molly's blog last week? She opens the door to the StandOut coaching room for a discussion on the resilience of the people we work with, and our work to help them to recognise and develop it further. https://t.co/05deeBzmbO

Creating different opportunities to connect is an important part of our support for participants in the community. Last week, we invited a group to join us at @3pillarsproject for boxing! They had a great afternoon keeping fit & connecting with others on a similar journey.

StandOut is COURAGEOUS. A key part of our 2024-26 strategy is the introduction of our new value! We often speak about how our values - Champions, Connected, Committed, First-Class - drive our work. We look forward to sharing what being Courageous looks like too.

Recruiting is always exciting, because we start to get to know people who we could end up walking alongside for a really long time. It's on the wings that we begin to develop the relationships that carry us on that journey from prison, through the gate & into the community.

We've got that 'back to school' feeling! This week, our prison coaches are out on the landings at HMPs Wandsworth and Wormwood Scrubs, recruiting participants for our first courses after the summer.

Who doesn't love a pair of socks?𧦠People often leave prison without essentials like clothes & toiletries. We support our participants with the things they need to live with dignity. We look forward to sharing these socks - made by young people at HMYOI Werrington - with them!

βThe main thing [I would change] would be, you know, six months before you leave going through some sort of educational workshops or some sort of rehabilitation and through the gate support as well.β - Jason, on his experience We couldn't agree more π https://t.co/vUMgaXHSkF

Trust. It's a word we use a lot at StandOut, so we're happy to see it in @cjalliance's report. Key to lasting change is long-term individual support through relationships based on trust. For those we work with, our coaches become trusted partners in navigating life after prison.

Many of our amazing team wear several different βhatsβ. Amy is a Lead Coach at StandOut & founder of GiveSorrowWords β a project to encourage self-expression for men in prison, through literature. Yesterday we attended her first ever recital at HMP Thameside. Well done, Amy!

@charlie_taylor6 This paragraph β on the need for key essentials to be in place at the point of release β is extremely important. It's a longstanding issue that deserves much more attention, and we need to make sure that early release doesn't mean even less resettlement support than usual.
