My favourite depiction of the Entry into Jerusalem - the blue, the guys in the trees, the proud donkey & the three people displaying the various stages of getting their clothes off to lay under his feet. It is perfect. Giotto, c.1305, Scrovegni Chapel, Padua #PalmSunday

For the medieval church, March 25 was the most important date in history: not only the day of Christ's conception, but also the historical date of the Crucifixion. From the eighth day of Creation to the downfall of Sauron, it all happens today. https://t.co/7lQCefIOvR

Today is the feast of the Annunciation to the Virgin Mary, 'Lady Day'. In England it was once the spring quarter-day, when contracts would begin and servants took new jobs, and until 1752 it was also the start of the New Year. A day for new beginnings, new life of many kinds.

It’s Revd Merriel’s final service today. I’m not sure what our future holds without her and Revd Clive, but we owe them both a great debt of gratitude for the service they have given our parish . We will miss them greatly but wish them very blessing. 🙏
