A big thank you to our friends at St George’s Centre who placed these poppies in our church grounds. They look great and really added to the occasion of our Remembrance Service in church yesterday. It was good to welcome around 100 people to our service especially the youngsters.

During recent strong winds a tree was damaged in our church grounds and for safety reasons had to be cut down. Now we have the problem of all this wood to dispose of. If anyone would like to help themselves to some firewood for a wood burner please do so. #netherfield #gedling

It was great to welcome Netherfield Scouts, Cubs and Beavers to St George’s this morning for the Remembrance Sunday Service with a congregation of over 100. As always their behaviour was exemplary. Thanks also to Fr Keith Williams for the very meaningful service. @diocswellnott

Mass today was for The Naming and Circumcision of Jesus. Eternal God, whose incarnate Son was given the Name of Saviour: grant that we who have shared in this sacrament of our salvation may live out our years in the power of the Name above all other names, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Happy Christmas from St George’s Netherfield near Nottingham. Thank you to Fr Alan Haydock for a very meaningful mass last night. What would we do at Netherfield without our wonderful retired priests who are now all aged over 80? @diocswellnott

Christmas Eve Mass at 7pm. Sung Mass with Carols and Blessing of the Crib. Just like our traditional Midnight Mass at an earlier hour! Fr Alan Haydock has kindly stepped in to celebrate the Mass at the last minute.

The wonderful Collect for Advent Sunday which was said at our Parish Mass this morning. It wouldn’t feel like the beginning of Advent if one of the alternatives had been used.

Lovely Mass of The Lord's Supper tonight. Good to see more people in church than in recent years and people staying for a prayer vigil before the Altar of Repose. @diocswellnott

Ten people at our Mass this morning. The most that we have had in church for a Tuesday Mass since before Covid. Great to see so many people in church midweek but please pray that more people will soon begin to come back into our church on Sundays. @diocswellnott

Our Christmas Mass is at 7pm today. It will be our full traditional Midnight Mass with Blessing of the Crib and Carols but at an earlier time. Many of our elderly congregation including our retired priests are very grateful for the earlier time. @diocswellnott

Good morning. Today is St. Andrew’s Day. We have a Mass at 10.30am followed by coffee and a chat. There is a Mass at St. George’s every Tuesday morning. If you are not able to go to church on a Sunday morning why not join us on a Tuesday morning.

Yesterday we began the season of Advent at our Parish Mass. It’s always good to hear the wonderful words of the Collect for Advent Sunday.
