So @Zoom has just created the most bloated user interface requiring multiple clicks to get to meetings you scheduled. Is it on the Meeting tab? Nah. How about Join a Meeting? Again, no. You have to click on your own profile, then go down to the Meetings tab on the left.

I wish @NPR would release some of their Tiny Desk concerts on vinyl. I would listen to the Regina Spektor Tiny Desk on repeat.

I wish @kexp could release a vinyl album of the best @IronAndWine live performances they've recorded. I would pay top dollar for it. But also . . . I'm grateful for all the YouTube videos.

Taking time to pause in the middle of a classroom that is humming and let them know that they're doing awesome before letting them get back to work? Always the right choice.

I was just thinking about the goofiness that was #pencilchat back in 2011. I was remembering times when I had a rough day in the classroom and was vulnerable about it and people were kind rather than accusatory. I leave feeling grateful for the folks I've met here.

This space has felt worse and worse for a few years now and I've tried to continue with tweets about education, sports, movies. But my feed has felt depressing and I have felt distant from the educational space I used to connect with. I think I'm finally ready to de-activate my

Words cannot express how much I wish Daylight Savings Time was the year round default in Oregon. I have never thought, “What we need right now is night time to start at 4 pm.” I know we get to sleep in for one day but, no, just no. It’s not worth it.

Reading to kids doesn't just benefit them. It's good for parents too. Evidence: Reading regularly to children improves parenting skills, reduces stress, and builds lasting bonds. In a distracted world, sitting together with a book is a rare occasion for undivided attention.

One of my all time favorite Halloween costumes was when I wore a sweatshirt and hat from my alma mater, pinned envelopes to it, and dressed as student loan debt.

As a new teacher, I wildly undervalued proximity in my classroom management. When I work with new teachers now, it's amazing how much of a difference proximity, body language, a positive notes can make for classroom management.
