We launched first on @magicleap as it was then & is still today the only transparent #AR headset with a full 6dof controller, allowing the most flexibility while feeling grounded in the real world. What we didn't expect is how else Spatiate would be used besides art & prototyping

This led to using the app itself to prototyping our main menu UI remotely w/our design lead & product team. We found that direct visualization of the relationships w/ the FOV constraints & clipping plane allowed us to refine the ideal dimensions & placement all in one go.

We ran our first remote multiplayer tests using a mobile device & multiple @magicleap headsets in 5 locations around the world. This surfaced a host of unexpected discoveries, including how surprisingly personal a shared #AR experience felt over #VR (vo by @ali_heston & @andres)

Due to the flexibility of @unity3d and our in-house cross-platform framework, we were able to port our mobile version of Spatiate over to @magicleap in less than 48 hours of getting our hands on a headset.

Originally intended to be a multi-user #ARKit experience, Spatiate was most obviously inspired by Google’s work in the field w/ Tilt Brush & Google Blocks, with co-presence as a core concept. Here testing PolyToolkit's open sourced brush assets (avail at https://t.co/arBLOJSB4P)

It's been one year since launching the first Multiplayer experience on the Magic Leap app store, and we've learned a lot from this real-time #AR collaboration app in both local and remote spaces.
