I made "Shark Tank meets Animal Crossing" in Horizon Worlds by mashing up several of their tools including their LLM NPCs, drawing from my own startup & VC experience, and using a few gamedev tricks with the camera. Many thoughts about where mobile HW sits in the XR ecosystem...

So this post is now old and the price is back up to $299.99. Which is still a great price. A business analysis would show that this price dropped to $249 on Amazon Prime Day, shortly after that for a bit, and this is the 3rd or 4th time. It seemed to signal a permanent price drop

The original Vision Pro developer strap had the same retail price as a complete new in box developer-ready Quest 3s *with* controllers and USB-C cable. It feels that there is a very specific target audience that Apple wants developing for their platform.

5 years later, it’s possibly even tougher to work in this industry. I’ve seen 4+ exchanges this week of people hating on success, encouraging leaving money on the table, or invalidating valid opinions (“u gettin paid?”), from PEERS in the VR space. We used to cheer each other on.
What risks or sacrifices did you make to break into where you wanted to be in the #VR industry? Asking in order to set expectations for folks trying to break in.

Vision Pro: not dead, just dyed
First attempt at Black Vision Pro. Will use another method tomorrow to improve the colours; using a spray dye isn’t the best option, I feel!

Deleted scenes from Christopher Nolan’s Batman films
It’s not as easy as I thought 😆 I’ll try to find something else to dye the inside of the strap. It’s very hard to spray the inside of each layer, so it’s still grey in some areas.
