A high proportion of survey respondents were asked about their HIV status in a pre-treatment consultation. Around half were refused treatment after sharing their HIV status. Work needs to be done to improve knowledge around HIV within the industry. #BHIVA24

Our final abstract for the day is from @misterknight of @GeorgeHouseTrst on Addressing and challenging HIV stigma in the beauty industry. GHT decided to survey people living with HIV’s experiences of stigma when seeking beauty services, including tattoos. #BHIVA24

The #PositiveVoices survey covering met and unmet needs of people living with HIV is being presented by Colette Smith of University College London. The highest level unmet need was long term management and linkage to peer support and other people living with HIV. #BHIVA24

#BHIVA24 The Positive Voices Survey, such important presentations from UKHSA, @SparrowhawkAlex with the community perspective and Dr Ian Reeves a Clinician Perspective leading powerful discussion, highlighting the value of Collaborative Working and the benefits of good data.

So happy to see this go live, was a lovely final project to work on before I left THT. Janusz, Annemarie, Rebecca and Roland were all amazing to work with, as was everyone involved in the co-production of the training in its early stages.

Anxiety around social care was a commonly discussed topic whilst I was working with older adults living with HIV. This survey will help promote a new co-produced resource (which was to be my final project at THT!) please share, and take part of you're living with HIV ⤵️
