He sat down next to me with a toothy grin and leaned over a bit too much to hug me in for photos, then answered questions and charmed the press with his eccentricities. For instance he reached into his sock and dug out a cigar... (In front of children... in a Cancer hospital...)

When he strode into the sensory room you could feel the influence and power he held with everyone around him. With British flags on his tracksuit top and orange trousers covered with an ant pattern, he jovially told us about having ants in his pants.

Being in front of cameras made me really self-conscious as I had gained 4 stone from steroid treatment and my hair was falling out... but it was all very exciting too - until just prior to the visit one of the nurses told us that Jimmy can get 'a bit handsy'β¦
