ACTIVE SCHOOL. Children fit for life! We are so proud of our children. They made an amazing effort. We run the Daily Dash every day so we’re proud to celebrate this event. We also had an incredible turn out of adults and it was great to see our school community together again.

Today Reception had a visit from police officer Mal and his lovely dog ‘Jensen.’ We learned all about how dogs help the police with their work. We tried on police uniform and even had a sit in the police van! A huge thank you to Mal for such an informative and exciting morning.🙂

Year 1 have had the BEST day at Alnwick Castle! We learned about castle life, visited the state rooms of Lord and Lady Percy, made our own tiles and walked along the battlements. Some of us even braved the Dragon Quest! We were all beautifully behaved too!😊👏🌞👑🏰

We are loving P.E in Reception and improving our basic movements each lesson. We have walked forwards, backwards and sideways, jogged, ran, hopped, jumped, crawled and slithered! So far we’ve only changed shoes but we are ready to change more of our PE kit next week.

Mrs Yarrow is retiring after being part of our team for 13 years. She has supported many children and their families during this time. Pupils presented her with cards that they had made in class. We wish her every happiness for a long and happy retirement, from everyone at SWFS.

After consultation with our neighbouring middle school and other head teachers in the area we have decided to remain closed tomorrow (Fri 2nd March) due to treacherous access to school. This decision has not been taken lightly and is made to ensure the safety of children, parents
