I learned recently that Palestinians are on average over 50% of Jewish descent, with a mixture of other groups (eg, Arab, Egyptian etc). They became Islamized at some point. Also, 75 - 90% of all Jews come from the Levant originally, so talk of "European colonialism" is nonsense.
