Poparazzi (@poparazzidotcom) launched today and skyrocketed to the top of the App Store because of their 500k (!!) person waitlist. One of the more clever social apps in a long while. My initial thoughts and a quick app deconstruct 👇🧵

Great people can see the imperfections in the world around them and understand why they exist. Founders try to fix them.

A good summation of the clubhouse problem. I think they'll become a utility and it'll all work out, zoom linkstylie

So... everyone seems to think clubhouse is the "next big thing" - but I think it's going to fail. Here's how I think it all goes down..

In 2010 we built terrible products that no one wanted In 2020 we built beautiful products that no one wanted The fail reason for 82% of startups hasn't changed in a decade. #customerfocus

People often ask me to compare working for Bezos vs Zuck. I worked with Mark much more closely for much longer, but I did work directly with Jeff in my last 2 years at Amazon incubating the Kindle. Here are some thoughts on similarities that make them both generational leaders:

I've been wanting to write up my work building a local social network. I thought it might be helpful to create some context on the problem in my first post

Product organisations are a function of rapid execution and obsessive iterative learning. Moving metrics and building great products are simply outputs from doing these two activities well

We still need to get more women onto the cap tables of successful companies, it's the roadmap to wealth Who are the female operators with software/developer relations/product experience open to explore angel investing but have too much going on or may not be plugged in enough?

Clubhouse will become a staple for consumers the world over, but not as a twitter, radio or even events competitor. It's going after Judge Judy! https://t.co/3oVPUon2tU

Product organisations need structure and collaboration is multiple teams work on the same product. Your top question, with so many product teams, who owns the customer?

Strong product organisations are knowledge moats. Two great product leaders can learn from each other just by witnessing peer output. They grow by-proxy because they share the same customer-empathy. Hire the best.

The simpler you can make metrics in a company, the more people that can understand them. The more people that understand them, the more people that can move them. Use a north star approach, not a constellation.

Obv, the key point here is that there isn't a clear leader/dictator in the community hierarchy. Just an initiator, it removes status from the equation. Anyone could be the starter.

I'm going to be very curious to see how the power of paid communities affects this behaviour... It's a massive outlier, but if society did all join one single paid community they could have insane powers to manipulate the outcome of a core event...
