New research article: A model study investigating the sensitivity of aerosol forcing to the volatilities of semi-volatile organic compounds
acp.copernicus.org
Abstract. Secondary organic aerosol (SOA) constitutes an important component of atmospheric particulate matter, with a substantial influence on air quality, human health and the global climate. The...

Vegetation fires from southern Europe enhance aerosol and cloud condensation nuclei concentrations in northern Europe and the high Arctic A contrary trend in aerosol hygroscopicity is observed at...
In this new paper by @SnehithaKommula we show that vegetation fires from southern Europe enhance CCN number in northern Europe and the high Arctic and that liquid clouds show strong response to fire aerosol both in in situ and satellite observations.

@SnehithaKommula from #UEFaerosol gave a really nice talk today (her first talk in internat. conference!) about effect of aged biomass burning emissions on the atmospheric cloud condensation nuclei concentrations and on the cloud formation. Job very well done! @IAC_2022

If you are interested in how the composition of SOA from mixtures of biogenic VOCs evolves during the particle evaporation go and check our recent paper by ā¦@rexzjliā©. There are interesting things you can learn from the evaporation behaviour!
acp.copernicus.org
Abstract. Efforts have been spent on investigating the isothermal evaporation of α-pinene secondary organic aerosol (SOA) particles at ranges of conditions and decoupling the impacts of viscosity and...
