A few years ago, I tried to figure out how to cook a steak perfectly. Websites, cookbooks, and celebrity chefs all said different things. So I went straight to the source: science
This is how you cook the perfect steak every time—using science!
Wife: “My iPhone cable is broken.”
Me: “You can just have mine. I won’t need it on my new phone: it’s USB-C.”
W: “What does that mean?”
M: “It’s the same cable to charge the iPad, laptop, everything. Just one cable now.”
W: “That’s so stupid. They changed it again??”
Seeing
@MKBHD
cited in an Apple Keynote was legit super emotional for me. A decade ago, none of us were taken seriously or invited to events and now they've put "one of our" own alongside and ahead of the best traditional media. So cool. So proud. Serious kudos, Marques.
Migrating from one Android phone to another is still a nightmare. Meanwhile, my new iPhone didn’t move over just all my apps and settings, or my app caches and logins, but even the exact timestamp of the exact song I was listening to on my prior iPhone when I started migration.
The internet kinda sucks now. The same 4 companies are trying to just copy each other, Google Search returns garbage now, Reddit is ruined, ads are cancer, everything is blocked by paywalls or covered in auto-playing videos, algorithms are designed to waste your time, etc.
☠️
I despise the “grind” mindset. It’s not allowed at Snazzy Labs. It’s cancerous. It stresses out all workers, lessens product quality, and creates culture/operational problems without the time to address them. I’ll never be super rich, but I’m happy. And I hope my team is too.…
Europeans: “Why don’t you guys just use WhatsApp like the rest of the civilized world.”
Me: “Because Facebook sucks and should not have a global monopoly on messaging.”
Them: “So you’d rather Apple have a monopoly instead?”
Me: “As opposed to Meta? Absolutely.”
Here’s a fun Tim Cook story: until 2-years-ago he was driving a 2012 BMW 528i. He was a billionaire driving what was then a $6,000 car. Until recently, he lived in a 2,400 sq ft condo worth only $2.8M in Palo Alto.
He’s a humble guy.
This office is gorgeous though.
If this isn’t evidence YouTube needs an entire leadership overhaul, I don’t know what is…
This is shameful and only further validates that if you make YouTube enough money, you can break all the rules and they’ll turn a blind eye.

Confirming SSSniperWolf has received a temporary monetization suspension per Creator Responsibility policies. Off platform actions that put others’ personal safety at risk harm our community & the behavior on both sides isn’t what we want on YT. Hoping everyone helps move this…
Hot take: this is fine. 10Gbit cables require more shielding and are thus, thicker and less flexible. Most consumers are unlikely to ever plug their phone in for data transfer and would prefer a more malleable cable.
The most surprising takeaway from all the Vision Pro reviews/videos is how universally awful the EyeSight display is. Until today, I expected it to be super important to the “I’m still in the real world” experience. Now, I’m 95% sure it’ll be canned by the 2nd gen.
This is now the second time Apple has raised the price of a phone only to say “ah well, but we give you the same storage amount as last year’s upgraded model so the price hasn’t really changed” as if flash memory doesn’t cost them like $6.
I’m sorry, but I’m just being honest here, a Rivian is not a Tesla. I see & feel the love that customers have for it, but it really just looks like a standard, non-futuristic vehicle. And if I’m going to spend my hard earned $ on an EV, it’s going to be a Tesla bc I know there’s…
I’ve been a Tesla fan since 2013. I saved for years hoping I could one-day afford one.
I bought my first Model 3 Performance in 2018 w/ EAP and FSD before a white interior was offered but without the PUP making it one of the rarest configs to exist.

From being headlined at WWDC by Federighi to being unfairly defamed by the CEO of the company you built your entire business on, this is no doubt a wild week for
@ChristianSelig
. Kudos on bringing the receipts, and screw Steve Huffman and Reddit.
i've been trying to figure out why the apple vision pro personas bug me so much and i realized its because they look like they belong on cards handed out at a funeral
Apple sold the 5K Studio Display panel with an entire iMac inside over 8-years-ago for just $300 more than today’s computer-less screen.
It’s a single-zone backlit-LED 60Hz panel that doesn’t support HDR.
The Studio Display has no business being over $999 in 2023.
Titanium is beautiful. It also scratches really easily and is almost impossible to polish (unless you’re a Japanese company named Seiko) so going brushed is a good idea.
Me: “she doesn’t have it on the home screen”
Community notes: “It could still be on her phone even if it’s not on the Home Screen.”
I didn’t insinuate it wasn’t, now DID I?!
I cannot make this up... Intel meant to send me a 14th-gen i9 except they accidentally sent me a 13th-gen i9 instead. If that’s not symbolic of what a minor upgrade this year’s chips are, I don’t know what is.
So, maybe it's just me, but I feel like the visionOS 1.1 beta vastly improves the Persona feature.
Is it still uncanny and creepy? Yeah, but I don't look like Stalin anymore.
Just bought a new PC laptop and it won’t let me use it unless I create a Microsoft account, which also means giving their AI access to my computer! This is messed up.
There used to be an option to skip signing into or creating a Microsoft account.
Are you seeing this too?
If you’re mad at MKBHD because you feel the reasons he provided for not reviewing the phone you like were insufficient, you need to go outside and make some friends. What a pointless thing to be angry about…
A long while ago, I paid Best Buy $1 for a 3-month TIDAL HiFi trial.
After the trial, I cancelled. But it seems Best Buy never told TIDAL.
For TWO YEARS, I had “subscription managed by Best Buy” in my TIDAL account yet no charges from Best Buy.
My free ride ended today. 🪦
I honestly do not understand the point of this checkbox anymore. Even if you uncheck it, everything opens back up upon boot anyways. Has for like 3 years now.
I don’t think the folks at dbrand are racist or even poorly intentioned. I just think they’re criminally unfunny. The “edgy brand dunks on its customers” fad has passed but they're still doing it. Cringe, but they make money selling stupid 3M stickers—so maybe they’re smart.
🚨ALERT🚨You must go into the Apple Store to demo Vision Pro. It’s a great demo.
Initial thoughts after 20 min demo:
1) Passthrough is not anywhere near as good as reviews made me think—totally usable but clearly iPhone footage, noisy, muted colors, and not real life
2) The…
Remember when Google made Inbox—one of the best email apps ever—and then killed it because they didn’t want to spend the resources as one of the world’s richest companies to co-develop two email apps? So they just took like 30% of the feature-set and lazily jammed it into Gmail?
For the record, I do not miss it; however, USB-C is substantially less satisfying to insert than Lightning. Doesn’t seat with a nice click and it’s wiggly.
There is not a single car that has a useful wireless phone charger. They only bake the phone and charge like 3% an hour. Absolutely the worst addition to modern vehicles in the past decade.
I ordered DoorDash on the Rabbit R1. It didn't let me choose what I wanted on the dish I ordered and had it incorrectly delivered to my house instead of work without notifying me or without any UI to change that.
A rousing success.
This is terrible news. Everybody go buy your one-time license to Affinity 2 before Canva turns it to subscription garbage just like Adobe Creative Cloud.
I don’t know how his employees can take him seriously. Surely, Musk is aware that single digit micron precision on body panels is not only unnecessary but is literally impossible, right? Right??
There’s cost-cutting, and then there is destroying-your-product-to-cut-costs. Tesla’s decision to remove ultrasonic parking sensors was asinine to begin with but even worse that after a year of updates, their “vision-based” replacement still fails to recognize MASSIVE objects.
