I was one of the people who was there for that initial trailer all those years ago, it doesn’t live up to all my expectations but i’m not going to act like it hasn’t met a few of them, legitimately love it so far.

The further I get into it, the more I like it. the story does get more interesting (I think it’s held back by lackluster writing similar to Stellar Blade) the combat is legitimately sick, and messing around w the settings I finally got it performing the way I want.

Like sure, it isn’t really optimized well on PC, the english VO is definitely something (i’m persisting for my video) and I don’t much care for the story. But I enjoy the aesthetic, has solid game feel, the combat is really good, I think for a “Final Fantasy” indie, it works.

Alright I think i’m far enough into Lost Soul Aside to give a solid first impression. I definitely acknowledge all the criticism and for the most part agree that the game def needed extra time in the oven, despite that… I still think it’s pretty sick 🔥.

In truth I will be playing on PC because the legend @Kyo_DMC was able to secure me a review code (My GOAT frfr, thank you again you ABSOLUTE LEGEND) but I had to support and get a physical. Wouldn’t have felt right skipping out on it for this one.

To quell any concerns Final Fantasy fans have about the state of the franchise here’s an update:. Currently waiting in a line to enter the Square Enix pop up shop in downtown LA, it is the talk of the town. Final Fantasy is still massive 🥹.

No shade thrown at Lance at all because I know his tastes align with mine from reading his stuff over the years, but I mean if you’re truly not jiving with a game maybe uh…. stop playing it?.

Whether it’s positive or negative, i’m just so happy Lost Soul Aside is being talked about in any capacity both within my circle and outside it. I waited a long time for this game and to see creators I look up to amongst many others just give it the time of day. LSA stans we won.

If Swillo gives LSA a seal of approval (for now of course) I know i’m in for a good time. I have my own expectations set for personal reasons but i’ve always known this really is coming from the mind of one single person. Tbh im just glad this game is getting any sort of press😅.

This is an excellent read, Lost Soul Aside has always stuck out to me as the “Final Fantasy Versus XIII” we never got and that’s the angle i’ll be approaching in my video on it. I’d def take a look at this if you’re interested!.
