I think that I will keep my thoughts on what is happening in Iran to myself, since they are heavily pessimistic, and because it won't accomplish anything regardless. Hopefully I am not vindicated, but if I am, I will not be shy about that.
I believe that you cannot call for a truly free Iran without first and foremost calling for an end to sanctions. When prosperity comes so does civil liberties, only then can you have a genuine democratic transformation. This isn't even touching on the death toll of the sanctions.

This is hideous. This is grotesque. This is a stain on our collective humanity. No one is talking about it but the Trump admin just announced they will no longer consider *human deaths* when making rules about air pollution. 🧵 (1/11)

Finally, some good news in a sea of worryingly bad and scary coverage.
Three Palestine Action–affiliated remand prisoners have ended their hunger strike after the UK government declined to award a £2bn military training contract to Elbit Systems UK, a central demand of the protest. The decision, confirmed by Prisoners For Palestine, followed growing

Inside the White House, there is effectively nobody arguing against strikes on Iran, with Rubio arguing Trump has to do it or he loses credibility, I’m told. That means the only opposition is coming from outsiders like Bannon and Tucker and allies who are opposed, like Saudi,

⭕️ Trump appeared to walk back his threat of striking Iran, saying he had received information that “people were shooting at them with guns and they were shooting back,” adding, “you know, it’s one of those things.” Similar claims were echoed by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas
.@BretBaier to Iranian Foreign Minister: "There are reports, sir, that anywhere from 2,500 to more than 12,000 protesters in various cities have been killed by the regime. How many people have been killed?"

McQuail has a very good take on AI which I feel is worth reading, in light of recent events.
On the Use of AI I've spent over 50 years thinking about the concerns and ideas that I'm now bringing to this campaign. During that time, I've maintained a minimal social media presence. I wouldn't trust an algorithm to put words in my mouth, and I doubt it could do it well. In

Hi @ZackPolanski, I hope you are well. I'm wondering about the Green Party’s position on recognition of the Tamil genocide and accountability for crimes committed in Sri Lanka, particularly during the final stages of the war in 2009. When in opposition, Keir Starmer and David

Leaked 2009 Wikileaks email sent to Hillary Clinton stating IMF & World Bank officials had privately accepted that the Tamil Tigers had to be defeated & that mass murder of tamil civilians is okay. This saw the murder of 170,000 tamil civilians in No Fire Zones by Sri Lanka.

The UK is letting the Palestine Action prisoners, who are imprisoned for disrupting the arms industry that murders children, to die in their prison cells. This isn’t the first time. In 1981, the British state chose to let ten Irish republican prisoners die in the H-Blocks of Long

Before the Second World War, J. S. Woodsworth warned Canada against profiting from rearmament and war trade with aggressive regimes. He argued that when economic gain overrides principle, war becomes inevitable, and ordinary people pay the price. Canada continued to trade. And
