A second problem that has emerged in crypto (in 2022) is the provision of leverage based on illiquid assets as collateral. Size does matter. Illiquidity discounts do not need to be reinvented, just need to be properly applied. [6/11].

This brings us to using asset-backed stablecoins. No stablecoin currently exists where all of the above are fully covered. The closest with a large market cap seems to be $USDC and $BUSD. Even these lack some of the above-mentioned criteria to be proper collateral. [9/11].
