Kihachirō Kawamoto’s The Book of the Dead (2005) is a horror film only in the most romantic sense… a deeply Buddhist dissection, a spiritual and philosophical unraveling of the grudges that prevail in Japanese myth and film. Stunning puppetry and stop motion.

The opening to Metal Skin Panic Madox-01 remains to this day one of the finest pieces of animation euphoria ever committed to celluloid. The detailed drawings, the sound effects which really captured what anime used at the time & not a single frame of this is wasted.
Metal Skin Panic Madox-01 has that distinct hand-drawn 80s charm, but what really gets me is its dark color palette and moody military atmosphere. Wish this classic had a few more episodes.

If you aren't getting your hands dirty while making movies, filmmaking just isn't for you. There's a lot of fun that could be had from playing around with your first video camera & learning how filmmaking is done that simply cannot be done through generative AI.
Having A.I. make your movie for you actually defeats the main reason I got into making movies and the reason I keep doing this wild industry - because, shocker, I actually like the creation part of making the movie. That's the whole point.

Probably the best thing out of this game was John Vickery (Neroon from Babylon 5 & Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star) as Lucifer. Such an underused but memorable performance for the character, the man's voice just oozes charisma & arrogance.
it was called a “God of War” clone at the time but idc, Dante’s Inferno still goes hard and I would’ve loved to have seen EA move forward with a sequel
