Jan Amend is the reason I do what I do today. Even as an undergrad, he made me feel like I had a seat at the astrobiology table and thoughts that were valued. He always had confidence in me even when I had little and even after years he never stopped keeping in touch with

New paper on CH4 seep ecology just out online. Only a few AMNE ASVs dominate a given core/seep (!), and deterministic processes dominate community assembly in seeps, unlike in background sediments. @amanda_semler @FulweilerLab @AT36_EAGER
