By positioning themselves as party of working people (as opposed to the working class), LP sending message seemingly backed up by their actions. If youre not working, we're coming for you. Doesn't matter if you are elderly or sick. Worth is NOT determined by whether you've a job

Removing benefits of people living with mental illness isn't a zero sum game. Removing financial support in the hope of forcing people into work will only succeed in making people more unwell unless jobs actually exist and employers are supportive of those recruited into them imo

I'm *soooooo fecking proud* to work in the nhs right now. (Irony alert) I'm tired of conversations about lack of money, exhausted by people not doing what they say/should be doing, and devastated that the system feels incapable of delivering the service that it should be...

2023 - nhs admitted negligence over care that ran up to the death from cancer of my 52 year old wife. 18 months on, still awaiting promised apology. Today, been told that bereavement support for my 11 year old that was agreed 4 weeks ago has been pulled cos we're out of catchment

I wonder how many lives would be saved if mental health services learned to recognise the subtle signs of an impending suicide. Y'know, like, when someone goes to them for help & says "I feel suicidal" or "I want to die" or "I'm going to kill myself".. #WorldSuicidePreventionDay

2/2 Most helpful thing you could do at DoH (imo) is lead culture shift away from the defensive to a point where there is transparency and commitment to learn. Combined with systems based approach to patient safety. If we all work together we can make this better for all if us

OFSTED single word judgements scrapped, in part, for the good of teachers mental health. Good. As a parent of a child about to go into year 7, is it also time to scrap year 6 SATs that also use binary outcome measures? For the good of children's mental health? @bphillipsonMP

After seeing a shit storm brewing about a head of edi nhs job... All of the evidence tells us that diverse teams are more productive, deliver better patient care. Creating a culture where colleagues feel valued (and safe) is vital. More important than ever right now

2/2 Not enough resource. Not enough beds. No systematic reaching in when needed. Yet it's the fault of the individual and lives get ripped apart

Off listing people with mental illness for non engagement is not fair, not reasonable, not safe. There are so many barriers to prevent ill people engaging. At the end of the day, it's the job of services to engage, not the other way round. 1/2

George Thomson, former General Secretary National Federation of Subpostmasters. Not our fault, the PO never told us. If you're a member organisation, why believe the PO rather than what your members were telling you? Maybe there were couple of million reasons? #postofficeinquiry

People with mental illness, including detained in hospital on a civil section have the right to vote. I was sectioned just before the 2016 EU referendum & wasn't given the opportunity to vote. @SHSCFT I hope we're making sure our inpatients can vote! https://t.co/uyvvc80u7O

The vast majority of patients have the right to vote but surveys show many do not.

And if words haven't had any effect in our lives, we might need to do something else to show we need help. 👇👇👇

Capital is free to move unfettered across borders as companies exploit resources and chase profit. While this is the case, people should be free to do the same. Already tired of immigration being weaponised in GE campaign. Not in my name
