@TomFornelli To your point, if someone has a recipe to avoid blowouts, we'd all love to hear it.

Grateful to have had the chance to speak last night at the 2025 Big Tent Urbanist Holiday Party as an endorsed candidate of @chicagogrowthproject ! It was wonderful to interact with folks from various communities around the city who share my passion for housing and transit.

Today, Gov. Pritzker signed the NITA Act, which funds Illinois transit and provides Chicagoland with a central agency to plan, fund, and deliver a world-class transit system. The bill also removes mandatory parking minimums within a half-mile of major transit hubs! 🚇🤝🏘️

This, plus there's more opportunity for NIL in a small to mid-sized city than in rural places like Blacksburg. We need to build more homes & walkability in Blacksburg and Roanoke/Salem if we want to compete as the sport turns more professional.
One thing that came out of the Kraft issue is the rural schools are at a disadvantage when the players earn more. If you are a 21yo guy who is netting 500K (no real expenses) you’re likely gonna want access to the type of nightlife and scenery you can get in a big city because

ACC should have held their feet to the fire during COVID and extracted a better deal. Instead they rolled over.
The ACC should remove this alliance they have with Notre Dame. Allowing them to schedule your conference teams without being a member school is inviting them to screw you over in the CFP rankings. Make them play a mountain west schedule. Stop promoting their independency.

Arkansas would be a playoff contender in the Big 12. Take the SEC checks, take the SEC losses.
I’m an Arkansas fan that knows enough Ball to realize that VT’s had 10 win seasons 14 times in the last 30 years. we’ve had 3. It’s significantly easier for a coach to bring a school like VT back to relevance.

Is it time for a ballot measure to fast-track affordable housing in Chicago? Marisa Novara and Daniel Kay Hertz highlight NYC’s recent pro-housing wins — and how Chicago’s ADU fight shows we’re moving in the opposite direction. 🏘️ 🗳️ https://t.co/IipyyBCuU8

The recent granny flat fight in Chicago is an example of the city upholding a tradition that has held back affordable housing.
