Just watched a great documentary from 2004 called Showrunners: The Art of Running a TV Show, about this role in TV production. Great insights and worth checking out! #Showrunners

There’s a great documentary on the subject. You’ll see me pop up in the Spartacus writers room, and that’s the incredible @HartHanson (Bones) in the photo.
@stevendeknight As a showrunner is it just you and the writers in an office sitting around a table spitballing ideas on boards and figuring the best places for stories to go in various episodes? I feel like nobody has ever really discussed what an average day in that job is

Thanks for watching our film Jeff though seems like you already have a dream job to us!!
After watching @ShowrunnersFilm with my wife, we turn to each other and say at the exact same time: Her: "I'm so glad you're not a showrunner." Me: "Showrunning is my dream job."

In writing there's only one thing worse than being talked about and that's not being talked about @JanetTamaro 👉🏽 @ShowrunnersFilm

This is required viewing in one of my classes— usually followed by students stating, ‘that’s exhausting. I’ll just stick with feature/playwriting.” Check it for free on Pluto TV.
Just watched the Showrunners: The Art of Running a TV Show documentary because writer Twitter told me to and I 10/10 recommend, especially if you are a writer who has never worked in a writer’s room before because there are limited ways to learn how they actually work.
