Gosh twitter itās been a while! In the past few months I finally made it back to Western Australia after doing my PhD remotely for over a year, deployed mid-water BRUVS in Perth Canyon (and saw blue whales!), and submitted my first chapter for publication. Itās good to be back š¦šŗ

Great question! I'll be deploying pelagic cameras on #DY143 and this footage allows insight into the status of poorly-understood oceanic species such as threatened sharks. Repeating these surveys over time also allows us to monitor the effects of implementing marine protection.
