Yesterday, a delegation from the Shipwrights Company visited the apprentices on our Queen’s Silver Medal Competition at Kielder Water. The apprentices were working hard and enjoying the challenges - a most impressive group who were a credit to themselves and to their employers.

Ashlee Barrell, one of our sponsored apprentices for 2021-22 at Cox's Boatyard, Norfolk recently won the coveted European Commercial Marine Young Persons Development Award for 2022. Ashlee has learnt many skills in his first year and is a worthy winner. Well done Ashlee!

Jack Pearce, one of our 2021-22 sponsored apprentices, employed at Zenith Marine Services in Plymouth, recently won second place in the 'Apprentice of the Year' category @sdcollege 'Apprenticeship Awards' event. Zenith won 'Best New Employer' of the year. A fantastic result! 👏

The Shipwrights’ Company is extremely grateful to @warsashmaritime, who hosted a fabulous visit for members Company yesterday. The Shipwrights’ party was headed up by Past Prime Warden Mr Doug Barrow MBE, himself a former Warsash alumnus. A fascinating very enjoyable day for all!

Meet Ben Hodder, an outstanding apprentice Boatbuilder employed at Honnor Marine in Dorset. He started his apprenticeship in 2021, and has made fantastic progress from day one. He is enrolled with @bpc for the off the job training. Ben is a great credit the whole marine industry!
