That is why as we move to redevelop these sites we’ll continue to work carefully and respectfully with residents to provide them with the information and support they need to make the decisions that are right for them - before, during, and after the relocation process. 3/

But we also know that change and uncertainty can be really difficult, particularly for residents who have called the towers home for many years. 2/

The Supreme Court has found that the Towers Redevelopment Program is lawful, reasonable, and justified. The reality is that Melbourne’s high rise towers are ageing, reaching the end of their useful life, and need to be redeveloped. 1/

We will work with you every step of the way over the coming years. A huge shout out to all the housing offices who will continue working with residents over the coming days, weeks & months. The work that you do is invaluable, so thank you. This is what we’re building. 4/4.

We will work with you to find a home that suits your needs and preferences. You will have a right of return if you wish to come back to the area once the redevelopment is complete. Your rent settings will not change when you relocate. 3/

Staff have been out since 7am this morning talking with residents at these estates, about what this means for them. In the face of a lot of misinformation and the distress it creates, I want to be very clear to residents who live at these estates - 2/

Important progress on #CensusAU questions, with more work to do. Huge respect to everyone who has worked so hard to achieve this outcome, and to everyone who remains committed to counting all of us.

All LGBTIQA+ people deserve recognition. Today I wrote to the Prime Minister about the Census, and why gathering inclusive data about LGBTIQA+ people matters. Because equality means not leaving anybody behind, and if you don’t count us, we don’t count. 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️ #CensusAU
