The need for unit tests against code with low cyclomatic complexity is itself an argument for types. Types provide verification that basic api contracts are satisfied, without needing tests that run happy paths to check for runtime errors types would prevent. Just use types!
@ThePrimeagen I've been having this argument with type-safety brains for twenty-plus years! Unit tests (and integration tests and other forms of automated tests!) are what gives you confidence that your software actually works as intended. Not just catching nulls!
