Good climate policy must give more to zero carbon targets than fiscal rules. If Ā£28bn p/a is necessary for our green transition, then this compromise will be ecologically disastrous.
The bottom line of Reeves announcement is that Labour has recommitted to ambitious investment and industrial policy to reach net-zero and generate jobs. Phasing this in was always going to be necessary for good investments:.
