I'm currently processing spiders caught on a vineyard for my HRP (VC40) and wanted to double-check this one before putting it on the SRS. I'm pretty sure this is a female Mermessus trilobatus? 🤔 sorry, the images aren't the best! @BritishSpiders @cofnod

Macro shots of the nationally rare Rhysodromus fallax I found at Newborough Beach (VC52) last month. I am still chuffed about it, she is such a beautiful spider🕷 #photography #spider #macrophotography #nature #wildlife #uk

I also found this nationally scarce immature male Marpissa nivoyi on the dunes at Newborough Forest (VC52). Very tiny and cute! 🕷❤️ @BritishSpiders #spider #jumpingspider #wildlife #uk

Absolutely blown away by this Rhysodromus fallax I uncovered at Newborough Beach (VC52)!! She was found on the frontal dune in the same grid ref as specimens previously recorded in 2011. It's great to see a population still here, such a gorgeous #spider🕷 @BritishSpiders @cofnod

Possible Episinus maculipes female found indoors (VC14). Specimen has been retained as I currently don't have access to a microscope to confirm whether it is this nationally scarce species or not 😭🕷

As I'm going through specimens caught at Woolston Eyes SSSI (VC59), this small Theridiidae caught my eye. I'm pretty sure this is a Robertus neglectus, a spider apparently in long-term decline. Hopefully, this is some good news for the species? @BritishSpiders @cofnod

I was at Woolston Eyes SSSI yesterday for an #invertebrate recording day. What a lovely site! Plenty of #birds and inverts to be seen encouraged by the nice and warm weather. Unfortunately, Himalayan balsam and Giant hogweed seems fairly abundant here.

A couple of interesting finds from Dalton Crags: Zelotes latreillei female and Phrurolithus festivus male. Both were found under limestone slabs with P. festivus being found next to a Formica colony. I'm hoping these IDs are correct 🤞 @BritishSpiders @cofnod

For today's #recording day I was in Docker Moor, which is just up the road from Dalton Crags. Not too much variety today since it was wet and overcast, but still yielded a lot of interesting #invertebrates with many #spiders collected to identify back in the lab! 🕷

Dalton Crags recording day was a unique one for me. I've never been to a #habitat quite like it. Lots of amazing #invertebrates to be seen with Evarcha falcata being a favourite, such a cute jumping #spider!

I'm thinking that this is a Philodromus albidus? (Hopefully!😆) Collected from RHS Bridgewater VC59. @BritishSpiders @cofnod

Killing spiders not only disrupts the delicate balance of our ecosystems but also eliminates natural pest controllers that help keep our homes free of unwanted insects. Embracing their presence means embracing a healthier environment. These are simple facts! #TurnFear2Fascination

A hot and sunny day at today's RHS Bridgewater recording day☀️There was lots to see, especially vertebrate wise. We found frogs, toads, smooth newts, voles, owl pellets, and even saw a stoat! Many invertebrates were out enjoying the heat, and sadly so were the horseflies 😩
