The first author @YukiYuqiChen exclusively comes from a history background, yet she led all the challenging computational work in this remarkable paper. A non-STEM background should never deter people from exploring. Or, in Yuqi's own words, "new technology belongs to everyone.".
🔔 I am excited for our new pre-print!. We develop a new method to extract aspects of psychology from historical texts using a top-down approach. We use indirect supervised contrastive learning and build on SBERT to advance theory-driven text analysis.
