Today, we celebrate 60 years since the Voting Rights Act was signed into law and our democracy's commitment to protect the right to vote.

My team and I had a great time viewing the printing blocks used to press the original "Gerrymander" map cartoon at the @librarycongress - the best field trip for campaign finance nerds!

Today, @FEC disposed of two stagnant rulemaking petitions on #CitizensUnited and federal-contractor contributions. I support rulemakings on these issues, but the landscape has changed significantly since 2015. The Commission needs new and refreshed petitions on these topics.

As a proud HBCU graduate, I'm saddened that students at HBCUs across the country woke up this morning to bomb threats on the first day of #BlackHistoryMonth. Education is not a threat. "Flaming love and learning's light. Teach us each day, each passing hour." #Dillard #HBCUs
